
On To College
Our TBF Onto College service provides one-to-one mentoring for Glasgow young people who are about to make the important transition from school into college, we know this can be a time of excitement but also understand transitions can be stressful leading to feelings of anxiety. The TBF mentors are there to help you settle into college and make your transition as stress free as possible.
On to College is the service for you if:
- You attend or attended a Glasgow City Council School
- Are aged 16-19.
- You have a confirmed college space in a Glasgow college – (City of Glasgow, Glasgow Kelvin and Glasgow Clyde colleges)
- You are anxious at starting college and would benefit from support to help you get started
- You require support to ensure you have completed all of the correct enrolment forms to be able to start your course.
What does On to College offer?
- Your mentors can offer support to complete bursary forms, apply for any additional financial support that you may be eligible for. Apply for IT support and download / access timetables.
- Arrange campus tours so that you can see the campus and facilities before starting college to make you feel more confident.
- Help you plan the best transport route to college and support you on the journey to make you feel more confident
- Once you have started college, your mentor will continue to touch base and support you.
- If you decide that college isn’t for you, your mentor will be on hand to help you to explore alternative options that are right for you.

- If you have left school, speak to your Skills Development Scotland careers advisor who can refer you to our service.
